Capo Tavolo (Head of the Table)

Chris Carpenter
Chris started the Napa Valley Slow Food Convivium in 1998 with his wife, Tina,  after working and living in the Tuscan vineyards during the harvest of 1997. Chris is the winemaker for Lokoya, Cardinale and La Jota Wineries. He also sits on the Slow Food USA Board of Directors. "Slow Food combines my love of family, friends, human culture, our changing food system and pleasure into one focal point where all can be experienced."

Khristopher Lund
"Slow Food first grabbed my attention in the Summer of 1997 when I picked up an issue of Slow and found a whole world of food culture, the people behind the planet's best flavors and some of the most compelling candid photography. The mission and philosophy came later. The grand achievement I would like to be part of, is one day offering Gastronomy as a credited course at the high school level. A four year program covering farming, cooking, preserving, sustaining, history and the politics of feeding the world. I am a Sommelier and Sport Diner with my dream girl and wife Elaine."

Tina Carpenter
Tina fell in love with the Italian culture and way of life during the harvest of 1997 in Tuscany. "Picking fallen chestnuts from tree-lined roads and tomatoes from our neighbor's garden and searching for the fine cheeses at El Mercado Central in Florence, I learned to appreciate the bounty and intoxication of fresh foods." Her life has always revolved around great food, family and friends, growing up in a mom and pop's pizza joint in Chicago. She now enjoys sharing her fig and tomato bounty with Chris and their two daughters. She is the owner of Carpenter Creative - a packaging design firm specializing in upscale food and wine branding.
