Today, that movement has grown to over 100,000 members worldwide. In the United States there are 140 conviviums (chapters), 27 in California alone. The Northern California conviviums (Napa included) are some of the most event-active in the country as member's lives and passions generously revolve around food and wine. We are involved in the community in many different ways (see Events Listing).

The future for Slow Food is exciting, as we see a national, measurable shift away from absolute consumer convenience to concerns over origin, organics, sustainability and a willingness to pay for quality. People want to know from where their food comes and if that process is healthy, from farmer to table.

This is also a time of increasing political complexity, from GMO's to agriculture definitions (organic, sustainability, natural, etc.), pesticide usage, acceptable farming practices and many more critical issues. We will engage many of these issues at this site over time.
